Welcome to November, guys! (Okay, it’s still October 31st when I’m writing this but it’s almost over so NOVEMBER!)

We’re officially in the month before Christmas so I can imagine everyone is focused on that! I’ve already seen crowds starting their gift shopping!

At least if they done now, I won’t have to deal with them next month. While everyone is focusing on ‘normal’ gifts, I’m laser-focused on all the fandom goodies coming out this November!

So. Much. Stuff!

This is only a smidge of what is out there right now. I’m even tempted to do a Part 2!

I’ve done my best to pick out a few different fandoms that I love and would personally buy. I think that’s super important when you do a gift guide. Unless you wouldn’t buy what you show for yourself, then I wouldn’t put in a recommendations post.

GINNY, FRED AND GEORGE WEASLEY (YULE BALL)

Look at these Weasley siblings! They look so pretty! I’m going to try and find the Ron to buy with these but I need all the Weasleys in my life. I wish they would bring out a Charlie or a Percy too!

Goblet of Fire is the theme of this Potter year so I’m super happy that a few new Yule Ball Funko Pops are being released.

We have these guys as well as Professor McGonagall, Snape, Padma and Parvati Patil and Cho Chang.

Nimbus 2000 Limited Broom

If you’ve ever wanted to be a Quidditch player (check out Rodney aka KwikSpellCo as one!) and you have money to spare, then this limited edition broom is coming! I wish I wasn’t super clumsy and broke or I would have totally gotten this to pop on my wall!

It’s so cool!

Definitely a talking point!

13th doctor with goggles

Anything with Jodie’s 13th Doctor would be incredible to get! The scene where she is creating her sonic screw driver is such a fun one to watch and a look! I’ve seen so many people cosplaying this outfit so yay for a Funko version!

Reverse the Polarity 3D T-Shirt

MCM Comic Con was last week and a bunch of exclusive goodies were released there! One of them happened to be this t-shirt.

The coolest out there!

Embrace your 10th Doctor with the 3D glasses that come with the top so you can see all the front design in all its glory!

13th Doctor Rainbow Scarf

Another exclusive (this time with Forbidden Planet) is the Doctor’s rainbow scarf from the Christmas Special! I’ve been wanting this ever since I saw the promo picture with it in! Blue doesn’t even suit me but this scarf would literally suit anyone!

We all know how cold winter is going to get so treat yourself to this when it’s released…today!!

Run, Whovians! RUN! (I am!)

The Art of Star Wars Jedi: fallen order

Wow, November is really out with all the exclusives and limited editions!

You can’t deny that Star Wars looks breath-taking with all the special effects. This book is based off the video-game ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order‘. You get to follow Cal’s quest to rebuild what was the Jedi Order, see him try to learn the ways of the Fore and more!

The game itself is being released on November 15th on PC, Xbox One and PS4!

Star Wars: Spark of the Resistance

With Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker coming out next month, we obviously need something to keep us going until the film comes out! That’s when this YA novel comes in with Rey, Poe and Rose!

When a distress plea goes up from the isolated planet Minfar, Resistance heroes Rey, Poe, and Rose hear the call! Together they will face down a First Order battalion, terrifying flying creatures, and a weapon that could change the course of the war!

obi wan 20th anniversary figure

Can you believe it’s been 20 years since The Phantom Menance came out?! I feel so cold! I remember the day when I first saw Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and he was cute and Anakin looked adorable!

We even had a super young Natalie Portman!

Now we get this special figure to commerate the 20th anniversary!

Cinderella’s Castle: Build the Fairytale

I love building things like this especially when they’re 3D and they’re Disney! Disney models are so fun to make! I haven’t had the chance to do them recently so the look of Cinderella’s castle looks awesome!

You get push-out characters to add too!

Perfect for a little prince/princess!

entertaining with disney

This book may have come out a few months ago but now it’s in hardcover!!

If you’ve ever wanted to create some sort of Disney-themed event such as a birthday party, an afternoon tea or even a baby shower, then this book has everything! It gives you ideas about designing the invitations, planning meals, decorating the space and more!

Now I really want a Disney party! Anyone?

Art of Hand Lettering

This is one for Disney fans who also have bullet journals or love calligraphy! I’ve always wanted to figure out how to write fancy letters for my journal. You know, with the titles and everything. I’ve seen so many talented people creating them that I want to figure it out.

What better way to learn how to write this way than by writing some beautiful Disney quotes!

I hope there is something from The Lion King or even Beauty and the Beast (possibility since Belle is on the cover! Haha!)

What is on your fandom list for November?

Review | Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Journey

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a text yesterday saying that my order for ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Journey‘ had arrived! It was 3 days early! I’ve never had a book come this early before.

Waterstones, are you secretly wizards?

I’ve been a massive fan of all things Cursed Child since I saw a preview performance back in June 2016! I was in awe from the very first moment Jamie Parker appeared as Harry and remained after falling for the friendship (and romance…shhh) between Albus and Scorpius!

Everything you’ve wanted to know about the play, you’ll find inside this book.

They don’t spoil any of the magic that they do on stage which is very much appreciated but I do love hearing all the stories. Right at the beginning I was really interested in the early notes of John Tiffany and Sonia Friedman.

I was trying to squint at the writing to see if I can spot anything else.

One of the big questions I had when I saw the play first was ‘where was Teddy Lupin’? He was Harry’s god-son so you’d expect him to be involved with the family. According toJack Thorne, he said:

Teddy’s an amazing character…but we realized that we just couldn’t do service to him. Every character you use, you’ve got to use them properly.

He even said that Hugo wasn’t with his parents because he was probably being watched by Molly. It’s sad that he was the only one of the Granger-Weasley kids not to be included at all but I guess there must have been a reason.

When I saw that there was this page about the wands, I gave a little squeal!!

I’ve been wanting to know the meaning behind their designs for ages and now we get a look into all the tiny details. As you can see from Scorpius’ wand in my picture, it has little marks on the handle.

Apparently, since the wand is an extension of him, the marks are meant to the marks of his soul counting down the days until he could go to Hogwarts or even a form of self-harming. Scorpius!! *sob* With Albus’ wand, the bumps on his wand are almost like worry stones. He can rub his fingers over them to keep him self calm.

You know Scorpius’ hair?

Well, the wig is actually made of epiler hair (the white hairs taken away from natural grey hair). Since any Scorpius actor would have taken a dip at some point and there is chlorine in the water, the wig would get damaged so they needed ‘unprocessed hair’. It’s the most expensive wig out of the cast!

Anthony even wanted to wear uncomfortable shoes so he could feel as out of place as Scorpius felt.

Albus got the chance to be like his Uncle Ron since Sam came up with the idea that he would get James’ hand-me-downs. That’s why his clothes look a little too big for him. Sam said he wanted them to be a bit heavy and bulky to show that he isn’t his own person. His costumes start to change as the play goes on to show that he is changing as a person!

Talking of changes, did you know that any actor who plays Harry has 4 suits to wear?

He has a different one depending on the illusion he’s about to do. He has wand holsters, wand pockets and even the pockets in his trousers to hold his wand. I guess Mad-Eye didn’t warn him enough!

Do you love the robes that the cast wear?

Me too!! They’re actually designed to be a little like school blazers/blazer cloaks! They’ve got the collars and lapels but then have the sleeves of a robe and long at the back! They’ve even got their own personality depending on the character!

Karl Jenkins is quite trendy, and he wears skinny jeans and trainers. Yann Fredericks is very slender and a bit snobbish. He’s very neat, and a bit like Scorpius. Craig Bowker is quite lovable and cute, and he’s got baggy trousers and shoes that were clearly bought by his mum.

I know quite a few people haven’t seen the play yet so I’ve tried not to spoil anything serious, but I hope you liked my review all the same! If you want me to go detailed and make a spoiler review, then let me know in the comments! I have a lot to say still and there are loads of pictures I could include!

It was great to see some of my favourite ensemble such as James Phoon, Annabel Baldwin (She was awesome!), Tom Mackley (still gutted that I never saw his Albus!), James Le Lacheur and Barry McCarthy!

Have you pre-ordered ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ book?

Why You Shouldn’t Underestimate A Hufflepuff | Blogtober 2019

a hufflepuff

Last year I let you guys know why I love being a Hufflepuff so much!

There are so many reasons why this House is one of the best at Hogwarts but, for some reason or another, Hufflepuff is seen as one of the weakest. Maybe it’s because the other Houses are described as ‘brave’, ‘wise’ and ‘great’ and we have ‘loyal’.

Well, for this Halloween month, I’m going to tell you why you should never underestimate a Hufflepuff.

We produce wizards and witches you shouldn’t mess with

Gryffindor and Slytherin aren’t the only ones you should place your bets because we have had some incredible people come through. Cedric Diggory was a Triwizard Tournament contest who won against a dragon, saved a friend from mermaids and took on a killer maze.

Nymphadora Tonks became an Auror who consistently put herself in the aim of fire of Deatheaters and criminals. She also started dating and married a werewolf regardless of what he thought.

As for Newt, he has a suitcase with some of the cutest yet most dangerous magical creatures.

We stayed behind to fight alongside gryffindor

This is something that I loved hearing about Hufflepuff from JK Rowling. While the majority of the other Houses escaped while they could, we stayed behind to help defend Hogwarts.

Why?

We are loyal to Hogwarts, regardless of it being a castle.

We are near the kitchens

What’s that? You’re peckish and wanted to grab a snack from the Hogwarts kitchens. Oh, and you decided to beat up a Hufflepuff earlier on that day?

Oh dear.

Did you know that the Hufflepuff Common Room is right next to the kitchens? We’re very protective of our own and being loyal/trust-worthy doesn’t mean we don’t defend. Just remember to go to the Hospital Wing when you don’t growing pink hair all over your body.

some of us love our plants

It’s no surprise who are Head of House was. Professor Sprout was a force to be reckoned with and didn’t take kindly to anyone who messed about.

There’s a reason why we have a lot of plants in our Common Room and that’s because we’re meant to be particularly good with them…we’ve secretly adopted Neville! Don’t worry…we won’t set anything nasty on you like Mandrakes or Devil’s Snare. We’re not evil!

Just don’t be alarmed when you suddenly get squirted with Mimbulus Mimbletona pus and smell rancid for a few weeks.

Our House mascot is a badger

We may be a European badger but we don’t have any known predators!

Though other badger species can give as good as they get, especially the honey badger. If you rile them up, they will run at you and give you one heck of a bite. A lot of their prey are venomous and tend to be snakes so…Slytherin, be nice.

Don’t mess with a badger.

What are your thoughts on Hufflepuff being seen as weak?

Why I Believe Ron Weasley Deserves More Credit | Blogtober 2019

Ron Weasley

Over the years I’ve loved many of the Harry Potter characters from Hermione Granger to Newt Scamander. The one character that I loved from the very start is Ron Weasley. I’ve had a few friends actually scoff at me when I told them which Weasley I liked. “Why didn’t you like Fred and George first? They did more!”.

Statements like that make me laugh.

Of course I know that the twins did some incredible things. All of the Weasleys did something cool! That’s why they were my favourite Wizarding family but a lot of people overlook Ron Weasley when they see his family or even Harry and Hermione.

Not in this post!

Today I’m going to put my case forward on why I believe Ron deserved more love than anyone.

he was harry’s first ever friend

Harry didn’t have any friends before Hogwarts, partially thanks to the Dursleys, so you can probably imagine how much this meant to Harry. This is my first reason for loving Ron because, even though he fanboyed over the fact that he was sharing a compartment with Harry Potter, he actually stayed for his sweets.

Just like a certain nephew would over 20 years later.

he put his life on the line in his first year

Not many 11 year olds would jump into danger for a friend they’d only known for just under a year. That was what Ron was like: a true Gryffindor!

He might have panicked while he was being trapped by Devil’s Snare but he showed how brave he was when he helped both Harry and Hermione get through the giant chess game without getting hurt.

ron weasley

I always saw the chess game as much more than just that though. I saw it as the first time that Ron has been both in control and better at something than someone else. All of his life he had been fighting to be past his brothers and sister and it wasn’t until this that he got the chance. So proud of him! Dumbledore even gave him 50 points!

He was smarter than people gave him credit for

Maybe Ron wasn’t as smart as a Ravenclaw or like Hermione, but that didn’t mean he was all out dumb. His intelligence appeared in different situations such as the strategy during chess, he figured out that they could use Basilisk fangs to destroy Hufflepuff’s goblet and managed to a decent enough word in Parseltongue to open the Chamber of Secrets and came up with multiple ideas throughout the books that others didn’t.

Just because he didn’t always focus on his work doesn’t make him dim.

He had some of the best lines in the book

Though I sometimes hate that Ron was seen as more of a comic relief than a real character, JK Rowling did give him some of the best lines. Shame that the films gave those lines to others. Yes, I’m still bitter about that!

Some of my favourites are:

  • “From now on, I don’t care if my tea leaves spell, ‘Die, Ron, die,’ I’m chucking them in the bin where they belong.”
  • “Can I have a look at Uranus too, Lavender?”
  • “Oh, of course! I forgot we’ll be hunting down Voldemort in a mobile library.”
  • “And that’s the second time we’ve saved your life tonight, you two-faced b*stard!'”
  • “You need your Inner Eye tested, if you ask me.”
  • “Only if you were prat enough to go dancing around, waving it over your head and singing, ” I’ve got an unbeatable wand, come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough.”

There is also the line where Ron said ‘If you want to kill Harry, you’ll have to kill us too!’ in Prisoner of Azkaban but that was given to Hermione. Gah.

Do you think Ron Weasley should be given more credit than he is?

Mrs Weasley’s Comforting Hot Chocolate | Blogtober 2019

mrs weasley

The weather is getting cooler and Autumn is well and truly in full-swing so that means only one thing for me: hot chocolate! I love being all snug in a hat, scarf and gloves with a steaming drink in your hands. Either that or being tucked under a blanket, watching a film with it! Some people love drinking this and others enjoy making it for others to enjoy. I imagine that Mrs Weasley would be one of those people!

Close your eyes and imagine Mrs Weasley in her kitchen, humming the latest Celestina Warbeck song playing on the radio. She has one of her spoons stirring away at some milk warming on the stove while she broke apart some chocolate frogs. You can hear the Weasley kids, Harry and Hermione messing around with gnomes in the garden and she smiles.

Yeah, this post turned into a story! Haha!

Mrs Weasley’s Hot Chocolate (V & GF)

Ingredients

250ml almond milk/oat milk
2 tsp cacao powder
1-2 tbsp agave honey/maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon/ginger/vanilla extract
1 tsp chia seeds

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized pan, pour in your choice of milk along with the cacao powder, sweetener, flavouring and chia seeds. (I’ve heard so many benefits of chia seeds! I even have them in my porridge so why not in hot chocolate too!)
  2. Bring all the ingredients to a low boil while gently continuously stirring everything.
  3. When it starts to boil, take off the heat and pop into a blender. (Just to make everything silky smooth!)
  4. If you’ve got a friend joining you, divide the mixture into two mugs (Pick a fun mug! My favourite is a Marauder’s Map one!)
  5. Have a fun time choosing which topping you’d like to have! You could have cacao nibs for added chocolate, marshmellows (Holland & Barratt do some great vegan and gluten free ones!) and whipped cream!
  6. If you enjoy, Mrs Weasley will be so happy!

This little recipe is so simple and beyond yummy! I’ll be having mine tonight while I watched The Dragon Prince on Netflix!

Where would you drink your hot chocolate?

Review | Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Illustrated Edition

goblet of fire

It’s October 8th and that means it’s the publication day for the new Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Illustrated Edition.

I’ve been super excited for this book to be released because it actually has Hufflepuff mentioned a whole bunch! Okay…so…there are some students who do not represent us well but we’ve got Cedric Diggory!

He is like total Hufflepuff!

I couldn’t wait to see what magic Jim Kay had created especially with scenes like the Tasks and the Yule Ball! So many incredible moments that I adored in the original Goblet of Fire!

This is going to be a pretty photo-heavy post so if you haven’t been able to get the book yet, I do have other Harry Potter posts for you to enjoy!

goblet of fire

Alright…I’m just going to say it! If you’ve watched the Very Potter Musicals, then am I the only one who thinks Ron is beginning to look more and more like Joey Richer! If I start to see Red Vines appearing, then it’s fate! Haha!

goblet of fire

THE BURROW!! Yes, I’m using caps here! I’m using them because I always feel so happy to see this place illustrated. It’s so magical, full of memories and so many kids! They made the place such a home and one of my favourite details of the book has to be this teeny drawing by one of the Weasley kids. I think it’s of Mr Weasley but not sure which of the children the other two people are.

Could be Bill?

goblet of fire

goblet of fire

I absolutely adore this double-page spread of the Beauxbaton students flying towards Hogwarts! It looks as majestic as I imagined and the horses look pretty regal themselves! You can’t go wrong with flying horses!

goblet of fire

I have to feel a little sorry for Viktor with this image! He’s looking a little skinnier than I imagined and a cross between Hiccup from How To Train A Dragon and Bran Stark from Game of Thrones! He had been on a long boat ride on the Durmstrang ship so maybe he’s sea-sick? Haha.

goblet of fire

goblet of fire

goblet of fire

That look Ron is giving towards Hermione with Krum is everything to my shipping heart! I’ve always been a big Ron/Hermione shipper and it was so much fun seeing him get jealous and yet being utterly hopeless with his feelings! By the way…Hermione is in her periwrinkle dress!! I have been waiting years for this moment! THANK YOU JIM!!

To be honest, I could literally post every single picture from Goblet of Fire into this post but we would literally be here forever and this is already way too long!! If you’ve gotten to this point, tell your favourite colour in the comments!

Will you be buying this book or do you prefer the original copy instead?

Mina Lima’s Harry Potter Wallpaper Collection

For many years now, I’ve been a massive fan of Mina Lima and their work! How could I not when their graphic designs are genius and they designed for Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts?! The news that came out in the last few hours is that they have created a selection of Harry Potter wallpaper! I’ve been wanting nerdy wallpaper like this for a long time so this made me super excited!

I wanted to sit down and write about my thoughts on the designs you can get and which one I would personally buy to consolidate the status of my Potter Palace!

wallpaper

Quidditch Wallpaper (£89)

Please tell me I’m not the only one who gets Toy Story vibes from this wallpaper! Haha! That’s a good thing by the way in case Mina Lima ever find this post! I think this is so bright and colourful! Perfect for a little witch or wizard’s bedroom! If I was young, I’d have totally begged my parents to put this in my room!

Marauders Map Wallpaper (£89)

This is a wallpaper that I’ve always admired whenever I’ve visited the Mina Lima shop and seen the Marauders’ Map design! It’s an amazing part of the books and the films so would be just as great in a bedroom too! Now if only I could say ‘I solemnly swear that I’m up to no good’ to activate it and make it move!

Maybe that’s an idea for the futuristic Mina Lima shop!

Hogwarts School Library Wallpaper (£89)

I want! I need! I must own! My inner Hermione and Scorpius are literally crying to have this immediately in my flat somewhere! It would either go in my bedroom or even in my little office where I keep all my books anyway. It has such a magical feel about it and I half expect the books to suddenly come away from my wall and fly in the air!

Daily Prophet Wallpaper (£89)

I’m going to admit and say that I don’t personally like this as a wallpaper. I think it’s just too much and might make a room look a little like a prison cell. Plus I’m not a massive fan of black and white on my walls so that might have something to do with it. I’m not sure where in a home this would fit but maybe my interior design friends would have a clue for any Potter fans tempted!

Black Family Portrait Wallpaper (£89)

Finally we have the design that was made to become a wallpaper one day and that’s the Black Family Tree! It’s literally like a wallpaper in Order of The Phoenix so it was only a matter of time before it found its way into the muggle world and onto our shelves! This could be used in any room I think. I’d probably place it on a wall in my living room or even down a corridor.

Don’t take my word though…I’m stylistically challenged!

Overall I love all of these wallpapers regardless of whether they’re to my taste or not. They are very pricey so it would depend on your budget if you wanted it in your home. I think I’d only be able to use on a small wall because I’m a broke little half-blood and £89 is too steep for me to go crazy!

What do you think of these Harry Potter wallpapers by Mina Lima? Would you use them?

Doctor Who Fandom Harry Potter

New In Fandom | September 2019 (Harry Potter, Doctor Who…)

september

Harry Potter: The Mysteries of Hogwarts (£16.99 – 2nd September) | The Film Vault (Volume 1) (£11.99 – 5th September) | The Film Vault (Volume 2) (£11.99 – 24th September) | Professor Trelawney Funko (£9.99 – 27th September) | Fawkes Funko (£9.99 – 27th September) | Cedric Yule Ball Funko (£9.99 – 27th September) | Harry Potter Funko Advent Calendar (£49.49 – 30th September) | Fleur Yule Ball Funko (£9.99 – 27th September) | 13th Doctor SDCC T-Shirt (£15.99 – 3rd September) | Marvel Funko Advent Calendar (£49.49 – 30th September) |

So much incredible stuff is coming out this September and you just knew that I would fangirl all over the Harry Potter merchandise appearing! I did include a Doctor Who t-shirt too so I did vary myself! Haha! I’m not sure how many people actually read this series of posts but I love looking at what is coming up and popping each on my wishlist.

Mysteries of Hogwarts & Film Vaults 1 and 2

September means a selection of Jodie Revenson books all about the Harry Potter world!

If you’re looking for a short but incredibly detailed book of illustrations about Hogwarts, then you’ll want to have to look out for this new book from Jody! She’s written almost as many books as Jo at this point and it’s amazing to see all the facts that she’s gathered from the books and the films! It is a bit expensive at £16.99 for 48 pages but it’s good for any collector. You’ve also got the two Film Vaults coming this month too!

Professor Trelawney Funko Pop

Next up, we have the Professor Trelawney Funko pop and I’ve been waiting for Funko to bring her out! Ever since I read the Prisoner of Azkaban and saw what Hermione thought of her, I’ve loved her! Even more so when Emma Thompson just brought us to life for us!

Fawkes, cedric diggory and fleur delacour funko pop

Another 3 Funkos that I need to add to my collection have to be Fawkes, Cedric and Fleur! Fawkes is the most beautiful phoenix that I wish we’d gotten to read more about in the Potter books. Maybe we’ll see how Dumbledore gets him in the Fantastic Beasts films? We also have the Yule Ball pops appearing on the market and they’re adorable!! I do love Ginny’s but there is just something about the way Cedric and Fleur look here that I adore.

Yule Ball and Classic Marvel Advent Calendars

Before you say anything…yes, I’m including some advent calendars in my September post! You’re never too early to mention them because so many fans will be wanting these that you want to buy it quick so they don’t sell out! I’m not actually planning on getting the Potter Funko calendar because I’m planning to get the full-size Pops, but I do know a lot of people will want! If you love Marvel, then you will need to grab the Classic Pop calendar! It’s so quirky and I love!

13th doctor t-shirt

Finally we have this stunning Doctor Who t-shirt!! I’m actually in love with the design of the 13th Doctor, the inverted coloured Tardis and then the explosion of colour behind it! I actually think that would make an amazing tattoo! Haha!

What fandom things are you excited to see coming out this September?

My Thoughts On The New ‘Cursed Child’ Look

Cursed Child

Before I get chatting, I want to thank Ameila for my first ever Showbills (they’re obviously Cursed Child and the original Broadway cast as well), and Bertie (@OfficialBertiee) for the Back To Hogwarts badge from September 1st just gone!

All of this yellow is making this Hufflepuff very happy!

Now that’s out of the way, I think we need to chat more Cursed Child! If you haven’t been following all of the drama over on Twitter, you may not have heard that Warner Brothers has taken over the rights for Cursed Child. This news clearly had everyone asking questions: Was there going to be a movie version? Were we getting a proper book following Albus and Scorpius?

We just didn’t know!

What we found out was that this new change meant a whole new look! Out with the font that you see in the picture above! In with the font we know from the films! To say that we were kind of shocked about this new change was a bit of an understatement. You’re clearly wanting to know what my thoughts are about this since it is the title of this post. Haha!

Honestly?

I don’t particularly like it.

Don’t get me wrong…I loved the font for the movie posters because that was what we knew. That font meant movie. However I’ve been a fan of Cursed Child since it popped into the West End back in 2016 and it was the same thing. It had its own nice, clean font that I connected with it. Change is a bit of a big deal for me as it comes hand in hand with being autistic.

If the changes to all its marketing had been gradual, then I don’t think I would have minded as much but everything has just hit us all at once. That doesn’t sit all that well with me. I do understand why it may have changed since Warner Bros was in charge of the Potter films and, since it’s carrying on the same path (sort of) as the films…I get it.

It’s still sad to see the old font go. I’m glad that I managed to get one last picture with my friend Kate last month!

Other than the change, there are a couple of other little things that bother me. The first thing is how the new program looks. I think it looks a bit badly photo-shopped. The text is too close together, the nest is off-centre and…you get the picture. Maybe it’s just going to take me some getting used to and besides, I go to see the play for the performances and not just the marketing.

The other thing is the banner on social media reminds me way too much of Shazam! It doesn’t feel as original as the old one used to look. Plus the little trailer introducing the new look gives a way a massive spoiler that I’ve spent years trying to keep secret from friends!! I even have badges telling me to keep it secret!

Eventually the new look will be old news and we’ll be back to less drama. That’s unless you count the Cursed Child haters that like to pop up every now and again.

What are your thoughts on the new Cursed Child look? Do you like it or do you prefer the old one?

My ‘Back To Hogwarts’ Hufflepuff Haul

Hufflepuff

Happy 1st of September! It’s that time again…time for everyone to go back to Hogwarts! I’ve been reading so many fun tweets from everything that happened at King’s Cross this morning and made me a little sad that I couldn’t make it. Silly muggle trains. All that said, I still prepared myself for today with a Hufflepuff haul!

All of these items were collected during August and I love every single one! I do have two other bits but blogger!Dee forgot to put them in the flatlay like an idiot. Haha!

Hufflepuff Key-ring (£2 – Primark)

You know when you go into a store with the intention of buying a few things and ended up buying only a teeny thing? That happened to me. I’d really wanted this gorgeous Hufflepuff sweater I’ve seen friends with but they didn’t have any in my size so one gutted badger over here. I didn’t want to leave the shop without anything so decided to grab this key-ring because it’s adorable and you can never have too many Potter key-rings!

Hufflepuff Premium Notebook (£12.99 – The Shop Under The Stairs)

The first of the two notebooks I bought last month and I just love the design of this!! I always feel better with black notebooks because I don’t like to see any stains on them and it just seems more sleek. You have this beautiful badger design connected with the giant H of Hufflepuff. Part of me thinks the badger looks a teeny bit like a mouse but still adorable!

Hogwarts: A History Journal (£12.95 – MinaLima)

Yeah…obviously this isn’t a Hufflepuff thing but I HAVE A HOGWARTS A HISTORY!!! My friend Kate and I visited MinaLima when I was down in London and I knew straight away that I was buying this journal! I’ve wanted a copy of this ever since Philosopher’s Stone and Hermione quoted reading from it. One day I hope we’ll get the real thing because it has to happen but I couldn’t deny myself it. It feels like such a luxury item with the gold foiled edges, the fact that it’s hardback and simply because MinaLima create only the best Potter designs!

Hufflepuff Bookmark (£8.99 – The Carat Shop)

I love anything that has a gorgeous illustration of Hufflepuff but I adore this bookmark by The Carat Shop! It seems to be like the Hufflepuff badge that the students at Hogwarts wear with the coat of arms take. It’s so cute, is stainless steel and shows off 3 of the traits that makes up a Hufflepuff! Seeing as I have a bunch of books to read and around 3 Hufflepuff bookmarks, I don’t think I’ll be losing a page anytime soon!

Hufflepuff Card Holder (£4.95 – MinaLima)

I ended up having to my old Doctor Who card holder into the bin after around 3 years! (I made it last even when it was hanging by an edge!). I now have this gorgeous Hufflepuff card holder that feels so plush and like it’ll last me a long time! I can’t wait to see what my local bus drivers think when they see it!

How has your September 1st been so far? Did you go down to King’s Cross?
